Skilled Worker

Most of the newcomers to Canada each year, apply for Immigration under the federal skilled worker category.

Canada is seeking individuals with a combination of professional experience, educational background, and language ability that would make them likely candidates for a successful economic establishment in Canada.

This category is point system based. Applicants are assessed against a selection grid consisting of six factors. In order to qualify the applicant’s point total must meet or exceed the pass mark -currently set at 67.

Recent changes to the federal skilled worker program added preliminary eligibility criteria. Only applicants who fall into one the following categories will have their applications processed:

  • you have an offer of arranged employment, OR
  • you are a skilled worker who has at least one year of experience in one or more of the following occupations:
